In 2024, The Navan Community Association (NCA) in partnership with The Cumberland Township Agricultural Society (CTAS) embarked on the unique journey to raise the roof for a new Pavilion on the Navan Fair Grounds. A committee of local volunteers kicked off a fundraising campaign to raise $1,125,000 for the project. Lead by NCA president and fearless leader of the Navan Pavilion Project Committee, Luc Picknell, the group was able to secure local business to partner in designing, coordinating and constructing the 14,800 sqft structure.

Thanks to the support of countless local family & business donors as well as everyone who contributed through the countless fundraising campaigns and events, they reached their fundraising goal!

Construction on the structure was completed in early January 2025, just in time to make its debut for an extra-long outdoor rink (ODR) season. It was a full circle moment after the concept was birthed one snowy night during the previous ODR season when the ‘Navan Zambonis’ maintenance crew fantasied about never having to shovel snow off the rink again! After playing host to a number of showcase events during the 2025 Navan Fair while the Navan Memorial Center Aren, the structure was formally handed off to the CTA in the fall. 

Not only will the Navan Pavilion feature events during the Navan Fair and be home to the NCA’s annual outdoor rink, this amazing new asset is available to host many other community events and activities throughout the year.
