Cleaning the Capital – Navan

Cleaning the Capital initiative runs from Sept 15- Oct 15, 2020

Navan is joining the effort by hosting it’s own community cleanup!
Residents are encouraged to tidy spaces around the village over the coming weeks and EITHER (1) IF collecting on Sept 25th, you can bring your trash haul over to the “Trash Team” at the Navan Park between 10am-12pm to be sorted, tracked and weighed, OR (2) IF collecting on ANY other date before October 2nd, you can share photos and details of what you collected by emailing nca@navan.on.ca

A few important notes:
1 – Be sure to wear gardening gloves or even bags on your hands; consider using a wagon to bring separate collection bins for easy sorting (e.g. bins for paper recycling, plastic/glass/tin, compost, garbage)
2 – Rain date for the Team collection will be Sept 26th 10-12
3 – Items we are tracking include: plastic bottles, aluminum cans, plastic snack wrappers and bags, disposable masks, disposable gloves, dog poop bags
4 – Choose a spot to tidy, whether your front yard, or along your street, on a favourite trail or meet the Trash Team in the Park!
5 – If you’re bringing snacks and drinks, opt for reusables.

Our Trash Team will report back to the City for a chance to win prizes.

Overall, Navan is a very tidy village, but with more people home and out walking, there seems to be an increase in trash left behind. Let’s change this together! Thanks for helping to clean the community and earth!
